shamanic influences

sri aurobindo Studying the Vedas and soul consciousness through Sri Aurobindo led Nikki to shamanic astrology and its three worlds approach which understands the planets as bodies of the under world, the middle world 3D reality, and the celestial realm. Aurobindo’s teachings also inspire the guiding principle of shamanic astrology that the birth chart is a blueprint of the soul.

dane rudhyar Nikki is a devotee of humanistic astrologer Dane Rudhyar, his incorporation of the divine feminine, and his unique interpretation of the Sabian symbols.

carl jung Having studied psychology at university, Nikki aligned with shamanic astrology’s instruction from Carl Jung and his theory that the cycles of the planets and the stars do not cause the cycles of the human psyche, rather they are mirrors of each other. Jung named this phenomenon “synchronicity.”

The convergence of these three touchstones is how shamanic astrology teaches us to be agents of our own transformation. Participating and aligning with our personal astrology guides us to cocreate our evolutionary path.

legal training

Presenting before federal judges, negotiating media deals, and instructing high profile business moguls and athletes taught Nikki a concise communication skill that employs cohesion and coherence; a skill she uses now to guide clients in understanding complex astrological material. She also sharpened a craft for writing her astrology reports with clarity and precision from years of drafting court briefs, multi layered contracts, and media releases.

international background

By living among different cultures throughout her life, spending her childhood in Norway for example, Nikki inherited a rich awareness of the world. Her time living in Senegal and in France —studying French, the local art scenes, the literary histories, her own ancestral roots, and the continued study of astronomy and astrology—expanded this awareness into a global and inclusive perspective, a blended sophistication.

merging vedic + tropical zodiacs

Drawing upon this inclusive perspective, Nikki follows the union of the Vedic zodiac with the Tropical zodiac. In adherence to the Vedic zodiac she incorporates the current constellations in the archetypes of the signs; and she uses the Tropical zodiac’s alignment of the signs to the seasons—for example, the sign of Virgo is the 30 degrees preceding the Fall Equinox and is informed by both the Lion Constellation and the Virgin Constellation.
